We have just launched our new reading incentive program, titled Whooo's Reading. This year instead of using Accelerated Reader, where students are asked a series of questions and have to choose A, B, C, or D as their answer. We are challenging our students to log their reading daily and to answer higher level, open ended questions about the story or article they've read. Students are also now free to read whatever they like, it no longer has to be an "AR book" This means if your student, enjoys reading magazine articles, the newspaper, a story that isn't in the AR system, they all count. Teachers are also able to align the questions students are asked around the things they are teaching in the classroom, so learning is enhanced. We are very excited about this program and all the ways it will help our students to become not only better readers, but better writers as well. Children can log in at home and their login and passwords are the same as what they used with AR. Click on the link on the home page to access the site.
